Technology is the means to achieve non-technical goals. SPIKA's technology stack is based on best-practice languages and methodologies, and is carefully designed to provide a future-proof platform for reusability, scalability and cost effectiveness.
SPIKA has developed our own technical platform which forms the foundation of every solution we build.
In contrast to the vast majority of web agencies, we place databases and information at the heart of every solution we build.
Probably because the founders come from a non-English speaking country, internationalisation and localisation are built into the core of SPIKA's solutions. This allows your SPIKA-built website to lead the way as you expand and explore new markets.
We make extensive use of best practice open source components and our web solutions are built on a very scalable and flexible five-tier architecture.
We mainly build our solutions using Java – the world's most popular language. Added to this are Spring Framework and established open-source components.
Our in-house hosting option is based on Ubuntu Linux.
We have extensive experience in delivering solutions for enterprise environments using market leading commercial products such as Oracle, WebLogic, Vignette and MS SQLServer. However, when the choice is there we normally favour industry-standard open source and low-licensing products, keeping TCO to a minimum. The majority of our solutions run equally well on MySQL, Tomcat and Apache in a Linux environment.
With the exception of a potential database licence, our solutions are based on solidly on free components.
Largely thanks to our JAB framework and our standard modules, we are able to hit the ground running and get the foundation in place very rapidly and cost effectively, and it enables us to focus our time and effort on your unique needs.
