SPIKA UGC Features

This is a summary of some of the features available in SPIKA's UGC platform.

User Activities (UGC)

AuthenticationCan control access rights to each piece of UGC.
Some content may be visible to anonymous visitors.
User profilesSupport for extended profiles with multiple images, favourite urls etc. It's possible to control privacy settings for each piece of content.
FriendsBrowse people, Invite and manage friends, add to groups and control access.
AlbumsUpload photos and arrange into albums to share with friends. Possible to control disk quota.
BloggingAll the standard features.
ForumsStart new topics and threads, subscribe to threads etc.
StoriesPublish your own stories and add images etc, for others to view, comment on or respond to.
CommentingEverything can be commented on – other people, their content, editorial content and web pages.
RatingStars, thumbs up/down, Like it, or even report as abusive.
File handlingAutomatic re-scaling of uploaded images, even support for uploading zip files containing multiple images.
Tag cloudsAdding your own tag words – feeds into the search engine for easy access and helps finding relating content.
Searching / BrowsingEverything is searchable based on author, text content as well as tag words. The results are based on access rights.
Editing existing UGCSubmitted content can be edited, which may result in re-moderation.
AssociationAll user content can be linked to other pieces of content, editorial as well as user generated, so that it can be displayed as related content.

Moderation

Moderation ModesSupports all modes such as Auto-blocking, Pre-moderation, post-moderation, Abusive only. Different moderation modes can apply based on content type, customer history, time of day etc.
Language FilteringAutomatic rejecting of inappropriate words or expressions.
Content type based moderationPossible to configure moderation of for example only certain forums, only attached images, etc.
Member based moderationThe system can automatically flag members for more or less trustworthy based on past activities and entered content.
Automatic IntelligenceThe moderation system learns from moderators actions and constantly become better at judging what's considered offensive language.
Moderation Staff allocationModeration rules can automatically change over the day to for example reduce the need for weekend or night shifts.
