Senior Java Web Developer
This is a challenging, broad and very exciting opportunity for a Java developer to design high-profile web solutions, follow the latest technology and open source trends, build and deliver advanced high-volume, multi-tier, database-driven web and backend solutions for large media clients.
Supported by experienced architects, you will be exposed to and involved with architecting and implementing all aspects of the software solutions, involving every application tier from frontend to database. The role covers the full project lifecycle, but you will in addition have the opportunity to learn about driving a business, working closely with management and clients.
You must be bright, efficient, passionate about programming, have excellent problem solving and communication skills, work well under pressure, show high levels of initiative and enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic, project driven and agile environment. We require a minimum of 3 years recent experience in multi-tier website programming based on Java and Spring framework. You should ideally come from an agency or customer driven environment and have been exposed to load balanced server farms with high-availability and failover, and you must have experience in release handling for websites that are already live.
Outstanding knowledge of Java 6 J2SE programming, Servlet/JSP/JSTL, Spring core + MVC and SQL/JDBC is a must. We also expect experience in Ajax, javascript, jQuery, ExtJS, XML, SVN, Linux, Eclipse, Ant, JUnit, Tomcat, Apache, SQL Server.
You must be able to work from our office based close to Victoria station in London.
Project Manager
Established and expanding software company specialising in high profile, high-volume transactional web solutions based on advanced business logic requires an experienced web project manager.
This is an exciting role working with a global entertainment brand helping to manage their portfolio of Global websites. The candidate must be intelligent, efficient, personable and capable of working with the client and internal development teams to understand and define the requirements and to help shape the future of the clients' web sites.
The project manager is required to:
- take ownership of a number of global website projects
- work with and inspire the client to ascertain future requirements and put together road maps
- write specifications for new functionality in conjunction with the client and the internal team
- schedule work and manage internal teams to define and roll out the new functionality
- support the client in the roll out of new website functionality
- monitor and report on project finances
- champion project quality and help coordinate internal teams and software releases with quality assurance in mind
The role covers the full project lifecycle, and the candidate will be required to work closely with the management team and a number of senior clients.
The candidate must be able to work well under pressure, have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. They will however benefit from being supported by a very talented and close internal team of developers, designers, test manager and hands on company directors.
The candidate must be able to work from our office based close to Victoria station.
Essential experience:
- Must have a relevant degree
- 2+ years digital agency background with experience managing large build projects (i.e. not just marketing microsites or ad campaigns etc)
- Proven ability to deliver creative and technically challenging projects through the whole project lifecycle
