History and Ownership

SPIKA Limited was founded in London, UK, in 2002 by two Swedish brothers with roots in the ERP industry. Johan and Tomas felt that the web industry was too focused on presenting creatively appealing designs but lacked experienced project management and didn't have the technical know-how to implement robust, secure and scalable high-traffic websites which required tight integration with legacy and ERP systems.

Today, ten years later, the industry is flooded with hyped terminology and methodologies such as Agile, XP, Scrum, J2EE, MVC – all intending to help push website development to a more mature level, but often falling flat due to individuals' inexperience, resulting in a higher bill without tangible return. At SPIKA we have a sound, efficient, slick and proven project delivery mechanism with roots in Prince 2, which we have streamlined even further over the years by adopting only the best and most mature aspects of the latest trends. This is why we have been profitable since our launch, and keep expanding year-on-year regardless of the recession and a gloomy business climate.

Despite a larger team, the two founders are still equally passionate about each new project and they are still involved at a hands-on level with ensuring that your requirements are understood and that the right technical architecture is chosen for you.
